Loot Camps
Camps are zones of the map where, in every phase of the pulse, a chest with equipment might be generated. They are guarded by non-playable enemies that players must eliminate before obtaining a reward. This will get harder as the match progresses, with reward quality and rarity also scaling according to the camp’s difficulty.
Distribution
Camps will be distributed randomly throughout the map. As the match progresses the number of camps that appear will decrease.
Camps will be located close to where the next domes will appear, in order to guide the players closer to safety when the next Pulse strikes. There will always be a minimum distance between them in order to avoid too much chaos during the game.
Enemies
Camps are home to the enemies, creatures that guard them and the loot they hide. In order to open the middle chest, players will have to defeat all the creatures near the camp. Depending on the tier of the camp, the creatures will have a different level of difficulty. The difference in difficulty changes both their appearance, the damage they deal and the amount spawned.
There are three different types of enemies (which are currently a Work In Progress, they will be enhanced in future versions of the game):
Shooting Enemy
These Rovers attack players from a medium/long distance. They will avoid being close to the player, so they try to keep their distance to attack if the player gets too close. They attack the player by throwing them balls of acid fluid. These projectiles are parabolic shots with a moderate speed.
Exploding Enemy
Exploders are units that attack from a really close distance. They will chase the player once they see it until they die or get close enough. Once any of those things happen, the Mutant makes a really short animation that explodes leaving a venomous smoke cloud behind that deals damage over time to the player while inside of it and partially blocks vision.
Grunt Enemy
Grunts are really slow units that attack the player once they get close enough, hitting the ground with a powerful blow that sends players flying back. Their high health makes them tough opponents for players who want to clear camps and get the loot in them.
Loot
Camp chests can have three different tiers, each of them with different size and color. These tiers determine the amount and rarity of the loot they contain (weapons, consumables, grenades and ammo). The tier rarity also determines how powerful the Mutants inside the camps are. Camp chests are more rewarding than regular chests.
Once all NPC creatures in a camp have been defeated, the chest will drop various items on the ground, such as weapons, ammo, consumable items and grenades. The loot obtained in this site is better than the chests’, to incentivise players to fight constantly if they want the best weapons and try to combat more passive playstyles.
